Amici di Bologna 2024 returns to Washington D.C. on October 5th!
Join your fellow Bolognese and SAIS alumni and friends on Saturday,
October 5th for the 16th Amici di Bologna Symposium and Celebration!
This year, we are excited to announce our venue will be the new home of SAIS and Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC at
555 Pennsylvania Avenue. The Bloomberg Center is located just off the National Mall and features an expansive roof-top terrace with sweeping views of the Capital building and downtown Washington.
Schedule:
4:30pm - Check-In & Registration
5:00pm - 6:00pm: Amici di Bologna Symposium and Q&A session
6:00pm - 7:00pm: Roof-top Reception, with open bar and served hot and cold hors d'oeuvres
7:00pm - 10:00pm: Dinner featuring remarks by the new SAIS Europe Rector
Renaud Dehousse and SAIS Dean
James Steinberg.
Following the conclusion of dinner, the celebration will continue at the Amici After Party. Location TBA at event.
Something New
This year, in addition to our standard tickets - which include full access to the symposium, a reception, and a three-course dinner - we are offering a limited number of specially priced tickets that include access to the symposium and our open-bar reception, which features a variety of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres in a setting with stunning views of the Capitol Building and the Washington Mall. These tickets are for those alumni who would like to reconnect with the Amici community but can only join us for a portion of the event.
Amici di Bologna is a U.S. based association of alumni of SAIS Europe (also known to many as the "Bologna Center") located in Bologna, Italy. Our mission is to support SAIS Europe by creating opportunities for our alumni community to engage with each other and renew their connections with SAIS Europe.
Amici's annual Symposium and Celebration features a lively academic discussion with members of the SAIS faculty, a cocktail reception and a sit-down dinner. These events rely on ticket sales and generous sponsors to cover the costs involved and subsidize discounted tickets for recent graduates.
Any funds raised in excess of expenses will support scholarships and internship stipends for SAIS Europe students.
