2:05pm SAIS Update, Dean Eliot Cohen

3:20pm SAIS Europe Update, Director Michael Plummer (B'82)

4:30pm Closing Remarks, Tom Tesluk (B'81, '82), Co-Chair

While we are disappointed we cannot greet each of you in person this year, we are pleased to be able to offer you this opportunity to come together virtually and celebrate this special 65th anniversary year for SAIS Europe. Our program includes updates on SAIS by Dean Eliot Cohen, the latest news from SAIS Europe by Director Michael Plummer and a terrific Symposium featuring former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright and SAIS Europe Faculty. Our topic for this year: U.S. Foreign Policy After the Elections: Which Direction?"

Our Symposium is immediately followed by our virtual cocktail hour featuring our special guest bartender, Giulio Belcastro! Join us as Giulio demonstrates his mixology skills to guide us through the creation of three of your favorite Italian cocktails!

Covid-19 has impacted SAIS, our campus in Bologna, our students and alumni. As you know, Italy was particularly hard hit by the virus in the Spring of this year. SAIS Europe is fortunate, however, to have received a significant matching gift offer from James Anderson (BC'81), Chairman of the SAIS Europe Advisory Council. As a result, Amici is not charging a fee to participate in this year's event. We are, however, asking that each registered guest please make a contribution to the Amici di Bologna Student Fund instead. Each donation made to the Fund will be matched 100% and the resulting amount will be split evenly between fellowships, internship stipends and a new experiential learning fund which gives students opportunities to carry out field research, staff rides and other kinds of experiential learning opportunities. For more information and to make a matchable contribution, please click on the "Student Fund" tab above.

Finally, please keep in mind that, due to capacity limits with Zoom, this event is limited to no more than 500 guests. Please register early and contribute to the Amici Student Fund to ensure you have a space. We look forward to seeing you on October 3rd!

A presto,

Madeleine McCartney B'15, '16, Co-Chair
Tom Tesluk B'81, '82, Co-Chair
