Johns Hopkins SAIS alumni comprise the majority of the broader Johns Hopkins alumni community residing in Germany, which numbers approximately 400 alumni. They are an integral part of the larger Johns Hopkins community in Germany.

The SAIS community in Germany is represented by the Verein der Freunde der Johns Hopkins University SAIS Europe e.V., a registered association in Germany staffed by SAIS Europe alumni volunteers and funded entirely through alumni donations. Its mission is three-fold:

1. to help SAISers maintain and expand their ties to each other and to the school;
2. to organize events that promote discussion and dialogue;
3. to financially support SAIS Europe by providing the opportunity to make tax-deductible contributions from Germany.

In 2009, members of the Verein voted to establish an annual fellowship to support future generations of students from Germany at SAIS Europe. The fellowship is intended as a collective effort, funded through donations from alumni.

Since its inception, 43 students have benefitted from the German Alumni Fellowship.

Your generosity is critical to ensuring that the German Alumni Fellowship continues to support future generations of students.

For tax-effective giving in Germany, please follow the country-specific instructions below. For more information, please contact the SAIS Europe Development Office.

The Verein is constantly looking for new members. If you want to take advantage from the many opportunities and possibilities to connect with other SAISers in Germany, you can become part of that association. You can contact the Verein here.
