SAIS Alumni and Friends are cordially invited to attend the Annual Meeting of the German JHU SAIS Alumni Association in Berlin, to be held online via Zoom.

The meeting will start with a panel discussion on "The Economy, Climate Change and New Technologies: Can we Save the Planet?". This year, we will discuss the burning issues of climate change, a revival of the economies and technologies which would help counteract global warming, with:

• Nina Hall, SAIS Assistant Professor of International Relations


• Ken Keller (MSE JHU'63, PhD JHU'64), Member of the SAIS Europe Advisory Council and former SAIS Europe Director


• Eckart von Klaeden, Head of Department Policy and External Relations, Daimler; former Minister of State at the Federal Chancellery.

Moderated by:

• Norbert Baas (B'76), Ambassador (ret.), President of the JHU SAIS German Alumni Association


• Michael Plummer (B'82), SAIS Europe Director and Eni Professor of International Economics

The discussion will be followed by a speech by Prof Michael Plummer on recent developments at SAIS.

A virtual reception will follow from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with welcoming words by Julia Schilling (B'10, 11), Vice-President of the JHU SAIS German Alumni Association.
